Canon's CMOS sensors Canon's CMOS sensors capture images with exceptional clarity, performance, and tonal range, and offer the most pixels in their class.
Canon's Full-Frame CMOS Sensors
Canon's Full-frame CMOS Sensors (currently available in the EOS–1Ds series and EOS 5D series of cameras) deliver the same angle of view as a 35mm film camera and do not require any lens focal length conversion. These larger sensors offer more control over depth of field, and let wide-angle lenses work to their full potential.
Canon's DiG!C Image Processors Canon's DiG!C Image Processors enhance image quality and speed up all camera operations to maximize performance when you need it most. Our new DiG!C 4 processors allow for improved image quality such as advance 14-bit A/D Conversion, Auto Lighting Optimizer, Lens Peripheral Illumination Correction, and various levels of High ISO Noise Reduction.
Canon's Autofocus (AF) technologies
Canon's Autofocus (AF) technologies are advanced and customizable — including up to 45 AF points (on our flagship EOS-1D/Ds cameras), 3 AF modes, high-precision cross-type AF sensors, and AF Assist points — all working together for responsive, tack-sharp accuracy in a wide variety of shooting conditions.
HD Video Capture HD Video Capture (available on the EOS 5D Mark II, and EOS Rebel T1i) is an amazing tool for wedding photographers, photojournalists, and others. This unique feature allows for 1080p HD video to be shot with any of Canon's lenses including wide–angle, macro, and even tilt–shift.
EOS Integrated Cleaning System EOS Integrated Cleaning System is designed to keep the Image Sensor clean and clear of dust. It uses ultrasonic vibrations to prevent dust accumulation, and can be set automatically or manually.
Live View Shooting Live View Shooting (now available on most EOS digital models), allows photographer to compose, focus, and shoot from the camera's rear LCD screen. There are three types of AF available in Live View, for maximum flexibility: Quick Mode AF, Live Mode AF, and Face Detection Live Mode AF.

EF-S Lenses are specifically designed for Canon's APS-C sensor cameras, such as the Rebel series. These lenses are versatile, compact and lightweight, and affordable.
Optical Image Stabilization (OIS)
Canon's powerful Optical Image Stabilization (OIS) technology reduced blur from low-light or hand-held photography. Canon's OIS uses miniature sensors and a high-speed microcomputer built into the lens to analyze vibrations and apply the appropriate correction to stabilize the lens elements.
Ultrasonic Motor (USM)
Canon uses an Ultrasonic Motor (USM) to power the lens' autofocus mechanism, ensuring it is lightweight, fast, and quiet — without drawing a lot of power from the camera batteries.
