Canon also puts our brand name in the public eye by participating in several high-profile sponsorships. We have a strong connection to athletes and sports photographers that dates back over thirty years. For example, we have been the Official Camera of the NFL since 1984 (making us the league's longest-running sponsorship).

Also of special note is our ongoing relationship with tennis stars:

  • John Newcombe featured in a revolutionary 1976 Canon television campaign
    (we were one of the first camera manufacturers to advertise products on TV).
  • From 1990 to 2005, Andre Agassi endorsed our line of EOS Rebel, and Digital Rebel cameras.
  • Currently, Maria Sharapova endorses our line of digital PowerShot point and shoot cameras.
