Optional Canon Speedlite Transmitter
ST-E2 Mounted on the EOS 5D Mark II as a
Master Flash
  • External hot-shoe mounted transmitter such as the Canon Speedlite Transmitter ST-E2
EOS 7D with Speedlite 580EX II set to "Master Flash" Mode
  • A Canon Speedlite 580EX II (or older 580EX/550EX model flashes) set to
    “master” mode
Allows much finer control of lighting than even a shoe-mounted external flash unit; “Magazine-quality” photos are now within reach for the amateur shooter.
