3D Evolution in Mario gaming

The 3D visuals of the Super Mario 3D Land game make it easier for the player to gauge jump distances, enemy positions, and other on-screen elements. Players can see exactly where floating question blocks and flying Paragoombas are, so that they can jump and stomp with more precision.

Expert gamers will appreciate the way 3D graphics reveal the true challenge of the levels so that they can focus on nailing the perfect jump or shaving precious seconds off their speed runs; while new players will find that 3D makes platforming simple to grasp and satisfying to master, and more importantly, fun.

A brand new game designed specifically with 3D in mind

Combines classic Mario gameplay with the most compelling elements of 3D to create a 3D platforming experience that is perfectly suited for a portable system. Levels are designed to be streamlined and fun to navigate while the player tries to make it quickly to the flag pole at the end. Also, Tanooki Mario is back! Use Tanooki Mario's tail to attack enemies or float gently down from great heights. These abilities make it easier to navigate through the 3D environments with confidence.

New Assist Features for Less Experienced Players

  • If you lose 5 or more lives in one level a special Assist Block provides the Invincibility Leaf, which changes Mario into White Tanooki Mario This power-up can assist players who want some help clearing a course. This version of the Tanooki Mario makes him invincible to enemy attacks – simply touching an enemy destroys it.
  • If a player loses 10 or more lives while clearing a particular course, they can activate a special Assist Block that gives them the P Wing, which allows them to fly to the end of a course so that they can play more of the game.
