The Professor Layton and the Last Specter game features additional puzzles that will be available for download via the Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection service, just as with the previous 3 Layton titles. Unique to this title is the inclusion of the Professor Layton's London Life game, a mini-RPG presented in a retro, 8-bit style that will be unlocked after the player completes the main story quest.
This retro-style RPG will appeal to devoted Layton veterans. It is a charming, story-oriented RPG with many optional quests. When a mysterious fairy is discovered in Little London, the player must discover the fairy's origins while simultaneously taking care of their own lifestyle (clothes, friends, home) and helping their fellow Little London neighbors by completing various daily tasks. In a US-exclusive, the London Life RPG is available once you start the main Layton story. It contains over 100 hours of gameplay, and features characters from the entire Professor Layton series.
The Professor Layton series is known for engaging the player with an array of different types of puzzles. Players can expect to enjoy Logic, Visualization, Slide, Word, and Spot the Differences puzzle types. In the weeks after launch, a new puzzle will be available for download via Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection (Nintendo WFC.) These downloadable puzzles are in addition to the in-game puzzles. After this time period ends, all puzzles may be downloaded at once. Wireless broadband Internet access required for online features. For more info, go to support.nintendo.com.
